Born on May 13, 1976 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Introduced to the Blues by her father, Miluton Popovic, she began playing the guitar at 15 years old. Miluton and Ana’s mother, Vesna, saw her natural talent and made sure she received guitar lessons. Ana followed her father by studying Graphics Design at the University of Belgrade.

By 1995, Ana had formed her first band, Hush, playing Rhythm and Blues with some Funk and Soul. Hush played throughout Serbia and into Greece in 1996. In 1998, Hush released their debut and only album, “Hometown”. Ana would begin Jazz guitar lessons in the Netherlands in 1998 and Hush disbanded.

Ana formed the Ana Popovic Band while in the Netherlands in 1999 and has not looked back. Ana has performed with Buudy Guy, Joe Bonamassa, Eric Gales, Taj Mahal and more.
